They’re coming along on building the $300,000 houses on West Olive Street in Grand Center, and the lake I had photographed before is now gone. The new houses actually have some panache, and are turning out better than I expected. However, what was demolished could have easily been saved. I looked at this block way back in 2008.
The rock, dirt and broken brick piles below may be an art installation; I’m not sure.
There are some large drainage ditches being built like something I would expect to see out in Chesterfield Valley; I am reserving judgement until they are completed.
Home Depot and Lowe’s do have some great deals on landscaping blocks.
But I am happy to see the renovation of the Renaissance Revival library building near the intersection with Vandeventer Avenue. It is looking really good.
